No Friends?

7. February 2007 Category Christian Business Talk eNews! |

I don’t know about you but I’ve been a busy bee around here! One of my best friends, Bobby Crowson called me yesterday and asked me what have I been up to? Bobby and I talk all the time! So when 4 or 5 days pass by without any communication, it’s like a radar goes off… “hey, where is he (or she)?” I guess you could say the best way to define our friendship is like this: [Our] “Friendship is one mind in two bodies.” - Mencius

I’m sure you remember me mentioning in a few issues back that I’m taking classes for Biblical Coaching Certification right? Well Bobby and I are in the same class. It’s such a blessing to take a class with a friend. We get to share thoughts with each other, brainstorm and come up with solutions. Which leads me to today’s subject:

He’s Closer than a Brother (or Friend)
Although my friends and I try to remain in contact with each other on a regular basis, when we can’t be around for each other, there is always a comfort in knowing that Jesus is!

I can’t imagine not having people in my life, you know, like minded individuals. Friends who you can truly talk to about anything! But some people don’t have those types of relationships.

You see, it takes a special kind of person to share personal details with. Not everyone has the type of close relationship like Bobby (his wife, Carol) and myself. We are mindful of one another and even when our schedules are jammed pack, we are always in each other’s thoughts.

“A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24

And during those times, I have an even closer friend, Jesus Christ!

Closer than a brother?

To me, that means Jesus is always there for me to lean on, reach out to and have very intimate conversations with. Trusting and leaning on Him for my every need, my every pain, my every thing! Our heavenly Father desires for us to trust Him. To seek Him at all times, especially in the trying times.

Although God has designed my life and business to ministry, I often have to remind myself, just how close am I to God? For me It is not just enough to witness, or to speak at conferences, counsel individuals and attend church as a means of spending time with God. For me it takes having conversations with Him.

Just this morning as I went downstairs to the kitchen, I opened the fridge and looked around. I remembered the groceries God blessed me to purchase last night, I had not thanked Him for! I didn’t have a conversation with Him!

There I stood in the middle of the kitchen…

“Father, thank you! Thank you for blessing me with the means to purchase food for the nourishment of my body! Thank you for placing a blessing over every thing here, it is blessed and all is good! Because of your grace, I have this blessing! In Jesus name! Amen”

This meant all the world to me that I was able to speak directly to Him. To acknowledge Him for the things He has done! He was mindful of me therefore, I am mindful of Him, amen?

I pray that you’re blessed to have friends like I do, but if you don’t or when they are not around, know that Jesus is ALWAYS there, available, ready and welcomes your conversations! Here’s part of a song I’d like to share with you…

One there is, above all others, Well deserves the name of friend; His is love beyond a brother’s,
Costly, free, and knows no end: They who once his kindness prove, Find it everlasting love!

Which of all our friends to save us, could or would have shed their blood? But our Jesus died to have us reconciled, in Him to God: This was boundless love indeed! Jesus is a friend in need. by John Newton

Until next time, remember to pray without ceasing, spend time with God, speak with much love and patience and glorify God in ALL that you do!

Jesus IS a friend in deed!

Blessings for continued success!

Speaking of friends… my friend, Crystal Misener of Happy Mommy Newsletters & Resources is hosting a live teleseminar on February 13th, 1:00 p.m. (est). I told her I would share this with my readers, enjoy!

Topic: Becoming The Mom Of Your Dreams

This is Crystal’s passion, being a mommie. Crystal has a Membership site for Mommies and this is what she shared recently, “my membership site is all about helping work/stay at home moms to “be happy” and I take that goal very seriously.”

Why?: Many moms are at home with the very best of intentions to cook tasty, healthy meals, create great memories with their kids, keep a clean and tidy home, etc. Unfortunately for many of those moms, their reality is different than they’d like it to be, and though they’d like it to change, they don’t have strategies and ideas in place to make any changes.

The purpose of this teleseminar, is to give every mom some new, fresh ideas & strategies to help them Become The Mom Of Their Dreams. Callers will even have a chance to ask questions at the end of the call. Once you register for the call, once the transcript is ready, Crystal will send it to you so you can refer back to it as often as you like!

It won’t cost you anything, so run over and grab your seat here.
